Growth Hormone Evaluation and Treatment

Sermorelin, GHRP2, and GHRP6

What is Growth Hormone?

Growth hormone is a hormone that is created in the brain that causes cells in your body to reproduce, regenerate, and grow. It directly stimulates increased muscle mass, improves basal metabolic rate, promotes fat loss, stimulates the immune system, increases conversion thyroid hormone T4 to T3.

Who needs Growth Hormone?

Everyone needs growth hormone in order to maintain health. However, growth hormone declines steadily with age. It peaks at age 20 and decreases by approximately 14% per decade. Growth Hormone deficiency is one of the prime insults in the aging process. Sermorelin has proven to restore growth hormone to youthful levels regardless of age.

What is Sermorelin?

Sermorelin mimics Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH). As you can probably tell from the name, GHRH stimulates the release of Growth Hormone. Sermorelin is a bioidentical shortened version of GHRH; the shorter version lowers the cost without lowering the effectiveness. Since it is a protein, it must be injected. Growth hormone peaks while you sleep, so it is injected prior to bedtime. It is an extremely small needle – the same as insulin injections. Most people say that it feels like a mosquito bite for 10 seconds.

How does Sermorelin work?

Sermorelin is a medication that boosts your own natural Growth Hormone production from your pituitary gland, which is the master hormone gland found in the brain. Growth hormone is responsible for many essential functions. Some of its potential effects:

Improved quality of sleep

Increased energy

Increases basal metabolic rate

Builds muscle

Hastens fat loss

Skin tightening / wrinkles

Better Stamina

More Focus / Mental Clarity

Increases Bone density

Improves immune function

Quickens regeneration and healing

How does Sermorelin help me with weight loss and muscle building?

Sermorelin increases your Growth Hormone levels, which has all of the benefits listed above. Primarily, it augments weight loss with a fitness program. It helps you build and recover muscles quicker. As you increase muscle mass, your basal metabolic rate increases, and you lose more weight. It also causes adipose tissue (fat cells) to release energy particles into the blood stream. This causes increasing energy levels and shrinking fatty tissue.

Is everyone a candidate for Sermorelin?

Nearly anyone can take Sermorelin – males and females included. It is a bioidentical version of GHRH, so it responds to your own body’s stimulus. You may not be a candidate if your body already has enough Growth Hormone. Sermorelin cannot produce more Growth Hormone than is needed. Therefore, it is very safe. There are several factors that lower natural Growth Hormone levels. If you have any of the criteria below, you will likely respond very well to Sermorelin:

Overweight / Obese

Low Testosterone

Low Thyroid

Advancing Age (over 40)

Smoking

Poor Sleep

High Blood Sugar (Diabetes)

Lack of Exercise

How do I get tested for Growth Hormone deficiency?

If you are worried that you have low Growth Hormone or if you want to know if you are a candidate for Sermorelin, we can test your growth hormone levels with a simple blood test in our office.

How much does Sermorelin cost?

Currently, the price ranges from $200 - $400 per month depending on the dose and other added hormones like GHRP2 and GHRP6. You cannot use your insurance to pay for the hormone, but we can bill your insurance for all office visits and blood work.

How long do I use Sermorelin?

You can continue Sermorelin forever. However, you can begin lowering the frequency of your injections after about 6 months. Sermorelin causes your own pituitary to create more Growth Hormone. This benefit lasts even after discontinuing Sermorelin. Therefore, many people begin alternating months or injecting 3-5 times per week instead of every night. Our team will help you decide how often and how much Sermorelin to inject.

How do I get started on Sermorelin?

Call our office to schedule an evaluation and discuss it with one of our physicians.
