Meet Dr Sneed:

Dr. David Sneed has been a Family Physician in Austin since 1985. He served and trained in the United States Navy and is a Fellow of the Academy of Family Physicians. He is a past Chairman of the Board of South Austin Hospital and is active in numerous professional organizations.

Dr. Sneed has a great interest in preventive health and anti-aging medicine. He is the founder and medical director for Aesthetica MedSpa, a cosmetic dermatology clinic. Lisa Long PA-C

Lisa graduated from The University of Texas Science Center San Antonio as one of the first classes of physician assistant students that helped to pilot UTHSCSA’s PA program. The first inaugural years students attended the U.S. Armed Forces Medical Academy at Fort Sam Houston. She has two years of experience in orthopedic surgery and she has since practiced family medicine in Washington D.C., Hawaii and Austin.

Before attending PA school she volunteered as a paramedic in Westlake for two years. She now specializes in preventative medicine, hormone replacement and cosmetic dermatology. She enjoys her two daughters and their families, running in the hills, music and cooking. She continues to stay active with the Central Academy of Physician Assistants.

Meet Maegen Kennedy M.M.S PA-C

Maegen started her college career in 2004 at University of Central Florida in Orlando. Maegen completed her Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant at Nova Southeastern University in Southwest Florida. undergraduate focus at UCF was in biochemistry, molecular and microbiology.

Maegen’s interests include: anti-aging, diet and nutrition, dermatology, preventative medicine, hormone replacement, psychiatric care, sports and emergency medicine. She stays active in the community through various volunteer opportunities. In her spare time she enjoys mountain biking, yoga, music, soccer, cooking, spending time with her fiance Jordan and their Jack Russell and Golden Retriever, Chloe and Maggie. Maegen devotes her career in medicine to her grandparents: Sherry, Beverly and Ron.

Edith Castillero

Edith Castillero is our office administrator and has worked in Pediatrics and family practice for 15 years. Edith joined the staff of Austin Family Medicine Associates in 2008. She has worked in many areas of the medical field including Billing, HR, Referral Coordinator and as Office Clerk.

She recently earned her degree in Management. Edith has made a huge impact in our practice, offering the utmost in customer service and integrity. She is married with two kids and enjoys playing soccer with her husband and spending time with her family. She is also the fashion guru of our entire office.

Sandra Garza

Sandra has worked in the medical field for over 15 years as a Certified Medical Assistant. In this time spam she has worked in Pedriatrics, OB-Gyn, Family Practice and Urgent Care.

She recently moved from AZ to be close to her 4 children and 3 adorable grandchildren. Sandra is a crucial member of the AFMA team and is also bilingual.

Melissa Simmons

Melissa is Austin Family Medicine’s front receptionist. Managing doctor’s offices has run in her family for 15 years. She has been part of the AFMA team for over two years. Her objective is to provide a warm welcome in a professional manner to both new and existing patients while maintaining the front office in a well organized fashion.

She believes our patients should always have a pleasant experience and has a good understanding of their health. She is very caring for her patients and loves her occupation. She resides in Bastrop and stays busy with her family and riding her horses. Her outgoing, positive attitude makes her a true asset to our practice.

Kimberly Chase

Kim has over 14 years of experience in the medical field and has resided in Texas her entire life. Her responsibilities entail coordinating referrals for our patients amongst doctors and staff while providing a pleasant experience for new and returning patients.

Amanda Danielson

Amanda is one of our newest additions to Austin Family Medicine as a Certified Medical Assistant. She graduated from Virginia College in 2009 with honors and since then gone on to obtain her NCT license. She brings with her over 4 years of experience in the medical field which she chose as her career path because she loves helping people and making a difference in their lives.

She is the mother of two beautiful children and loves the outdoors. She is always willing to go above and beyond her call of duty and never without a genuine smile. She plans on going back to school to become a CURN and pursue a career in Urology.

Kati Coble

Kati is a registered and licensed dietitian with over 3 years of clinical experience and has provided evidence-based nutrition care to patients in a wide range of facilities. She has counseled clients in corporate wellness settings and helped athletes achieve optimal performance through proper sports nutrition. As a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Kati stays current on the latest research by attending seminars and conferences all over the country. Her specialties include implementing diet rotation plans for patients with food allergies or sensitivities, nutritional counsel and supplement recommendations for patients with micronutrient deficiencies and diabetes, as well as healthy menu planning for general.
